Tiger Stadium is located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on the campus of Louisiana State University. The intimidating venue is nicknamed “Death Valley” and considered one of the most dreaded road playing sites in all of college football. Additionally, Tiger Stadium had been referred to as “Deaf Valley” because of excessive noise created by cheering fans, students, and the band. Seating over 100,000 fans, on game days, Tiger Stadium becomes the fifth largest city in the state of Louisiana.
The original seating capacity was 12,000 in 1926. Renovations and expansions have brought the stadium's current capacity to 102,321, making it the second largest stadium in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), fifth largest stadium in the NCAA and the seventh largest stadium in the world.
Several upgrades to Tiger Stadium, including a new videoboard and lighting system, enhance the game day experience and excite the LSU Tiger community.
